Wayne County info requested. Will make it as easy as possible. My ancestor, Moses Robbins (b:8-27-1804; married to Sarah Elizabeth Long; both from NC) moved to Wayne County with many family members circa 1824. They had eleven children. In April, 1851, five of the seven children under 17 years (including one of twins) died within 17 days, a devastating event. I think at least two cousin children also died at the same time. My questions are: 1. Is there a written record of a major epidemic (probably cholera as there were cholera epidemics in the plains states at that time) in Wayne County in April, 1851? How bad did it hit the rest of the county? 2. I have no record of a city of residence, perhaps there was none. I do have one reference to a burial in 1862 in Centerville, IN. Is that in Wayne County? What other cities/communities were located in Wayne County in the mid 1800's? 3.

The Robbins homestead was section 9 AbingtonTwsp, Wayne Co.,Indiana. Moses II& Eliabeth Long Robbins & thier children are buried in Locust Grove Cemetary just northeast of the town of Abington. John Robbins, Moses I, Alice Harlan Robbins, & other relatives are buried there as well.
